Micro-Needling vs. RF Needling
While traditional Micro Needling provides a boost, RF Needling amplifies the process. Heat created by the added RF energy also works to constrict underlying skin layers, helping to further smooth out even the most severe lines and wrinkles.
Micro-Needling vs. Micro-Fillers
Micro-Needing using thin needles but can’t inject any type of active. Their purpose is solely to make a myriad of tiny ‘wounds’ that stimulate the skin to ‘heal’ via producing more collagen. Micro-Fillers involves using a cluster of short, thin multiple needles to inject a mix of active ingredients. These go directly into the middle layer of your epidermis improving effectivity.
What to expect?
Profound is clinically proven to create younger looking skin. Studies by Syneron Candela (the manufacturers of Profound) show a 100% response rate for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and a 95% response rate for improving skin sagging.
How long does it last?
Results are typically visible six to eight weeks post-treatment once your skin’s moved through its natural healing process. Optimum results appear at three to six months.
Does MICRO/RF NEEDLING hurt?
During the treatment our doctor will numb the treatment area before using Profound so, most clients hardly experience any pain during or immediately after the treatment.

You will likely experience some discomfort in the days following as your skin starts its healing process, however we will work with you to manage this and make sure you remain as comfortable as possible.
Pre-Treatment Care
● Do NOT consume alcoholic beverages (alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising)
● Do NOT anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, such as Aspirin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS (can increase the risk of bruising and swelling after injections).
● Do NOT receive skin or laser treatment after injections for at least 10 days.
● Do NOT receive any injectable treatments for at least 14 days.
Post Treatment Care
● Keep cool
● Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
● Do NOT receive any injectable treatments for at least 14 days.
● Do NOT consuming alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
● Do NOT perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 24 hours
● Do NOT receive skin or laser treatment after injections for at least 10 days.
● Apply ice frequently (5-10 minutes every 30 minutes) for up to 6 hours.
● Apply Arnica pilules or Hirudoid cream (available from local pharmacy) may be help to reduce bruising.
● LED Light Therapy may be used to help reduce swelling and bruising
● Review after 2 weeks of your treatment.
Contraindications
Micro-Needling Treatments are not recommended if any of the following apply to you
● Sunburn
● Sun exposure, sun bed within the last 24 hours
● Isotretinoin within the last 6 months (e.g. Roaccutane, Oratane)
● Cosmeceutical retinol within the last 12 hours (in the treatment area)
● Laser or IPL hair reduction, waxing within the last 1 – 2 weeks (in the treatment area)
● Eczema or Psoriasis or active lesions (in the treatment area)
● Depilatory cream within the last week (in the treatment area)
● Fungal Dermatitis
● Active cold sore on the area to be treated
● History of abnormal or keloid scarring
● Chemical or Radiation therapy
● Anti-wrinkle treatment within the last 48 hours
● Dermal fillers within the last 4 weeks
