DERMAL FILLERS

Fine lines & facial volume lost is a part of life — our skin changes as we age. It becomes thinner, loses fat, and no longer looks as plump and smooth as it once did. Facial aging begins in your 20s, when skin firmness begins to decrease as a result of both internal (genetics and natural aging) and external (sun exposure, smoking, stress, etc) factors. As part of the natural aging process, volume in the hands can also deteriorate over time, making them appear aged.

WHAT HAPPENS AS WE AGE?
1. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps provide fullness and elasticity
2. Hyaluronic acid diminishes as we age, causing skin to lose volume while increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear

To combat signs of facial aging, dermal fillers injection is one of the MAJOR KINDS OF ANTI-AGING TREATMENT

Dermal fillers are a type of aesthetic treatment used to achieve a variety of outcomes in patient faces. They may be used to reduce facial lines and wrinkles; to add volume to the cheeks, chin and lips; and to enhance and maintain facial shapes and contours.

How do

DERMAL FILLERS WORK?

Our bodies naturally contain Hyaluronic Acid substances that keep our skin tissue soft, hydrated and flexible. One of these is a sugar molecule (a type of glycosaminoglycan) which has a strong ability to bind water. Levels of this molecule in the skin tend to decrease as we age or when we are exposed to harsh environments, resulting in dry, thinner skin.

Dermal fillers typically contain this glycosaminoglycan. When placed in the deeper layers of the skin, this sugar molecule keeps the skin hydrated. Such products are used to enhance and maintain facial shape, angles and contours; to reduce fine facial lines and wrinkles; and to add volume to the cheeks and lips, and volumize ageing faces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anti-Wrinkle vs. Dermal Filler
  • Anti-Wrinkle Injection relaxes facial muscles and rebalances muscles and prevents movement that causes wrinkles. Ideal for “expression lines” like forehead lines, frown lines.
  • Dermal Filler are hyaluronic gels, and these naturally occur in the body. Fillers add volume by pumping and lifting, commonly used to fill lips, cheeks, under the eyes.

Dermal Filler vs. Micro-Fillers/ Skin Boosters/Skin Hydrators/Hydro-Filler
Unlike traditional dermal fillers which build volume and structure, Micro-Fillers focuses on the surface layer of your skin to holistically boost hydration and collagen across the whole treatment area.
How long does it take to work?
Treatment results are immediate. However, an additional treatment of filler may be needed to achieve the patient's desired level of correction. Over time, the filler will gradually break down and be absorbed by your body.
How long does it last?
The results can last from 3 months up to 2 years, but this period may vary from person to person and depends on the filler used, area treated, and volume injected. As a result, injections will need to be repeated to maintain the desired effect.
Does Dermal Fillers hurt?
There may be a slight discomfort whilst the filler is being injected into the face. But we minimise this by applying an anaesthetic cream before treatment. To provide further relief and alleviate as much pain as possible, our fillers contain a pre-mixed local anaesthetic. We can also provide Dental block technique for numbing of the lips prior to lip filler.
